Happy Birthday

This is the last card we made at the Kids Card Class.  A fun birthday card using the Super Hero paper pack and the Party Animal stamp set.  The kids thought this card was lots of fun!

Happy Fathers Day

This card was designed to be masculine.  Originally I thought the kids making this could give it to their dads for Fathers Day.  I know several of the kids are planning to do just that but I had one person who said they gave it to a substitute teacher at school because he was so great.  He loved the card I'm told.  I thought it was so nice of her to give it to him!

I "Heart" You

This is another card the kids made at my class.  It was designed to be a Mother's Day card each of the kids could give their moms.  I put out lots of different embellishments so each of the kids could add their own personality to the cards.  They all turned out great and I heard from several moms that the loved them :)

Happy as a Clam

We made this card as part of a kids card class I had.  They got to learn the "rock 'n roll" technique to stamp the clam.  First stamp the image in the lightest color and then "roll" the outside edge of the stamp in the darker and then stamp image on the desired cardstock.  If you look close the clam has green around the edge. 

Here's a layout that I will be using for my son's 9th birthday.  He got a bike so I thought the retired "Extreme" stamp set was perfect.  I also used the April stamp of the month to add the "grid" background on the green cardstock at the top.  The grid and the words in the lower left corner have been embossed using Outdoor Denim embossing powder.

This layout is made with Pemberly and the stamp set included in the Pemberly Workshop on the Go.  I love these pictures of my husband and son.  The journaling portion on the right page was made using a card template from Wishes.  I love that I can use the books for something other than the "intended purpose".  I added stitching and buttons to add some special interest to the layout.  

Family Layout

I made this layout using the Super Hero paper pack and the April Stamp of the Month.  I am planning to put pictures from the annual trip up north over the 4th of July with the extended family. 

Stella Layout

I created this layout with the Stella papers for the monthly workshop. It also features the A Rainbow stamp set. I love the rainbow and little bird!

Lucy Envelope Card

This card is another twist on using envelopes. I showcased one a couple of weeks ago that used an envelope as a "box" to make a fun note card holder. Today I'm featuring an enveloped folded in half, decorated and adhered to a piece of Lucy cardstock. When you untie the envelope you can unfold the envelope and put a simple note in for the recipient.

Birthday Layout

Today I've completed a birthday layout.  It won't show in the picture very well but the words in the bottom left corner as well as the diamond outdoor denim pattern stamped on the topiary at the top have been embossed.  It makes them a bit shiny and adds some dimension.

I originally saw a very similiar on Jeannette Lynton's blog and fell in love so I CASED it! So fun and simple yet so easy!

Ok so I completely missed the boat the last two Mondays and forgot to post a piece of artwork made with the great Dotty papers, sorry about that!  I will share two cards I made with them today.  Both a fun and bright cards that can be used for any occasion. 

A faux quilt card.  I drew in the stitching to give it some depth and dimension.

Firecracker Birthday

For this birthday card I used the lines in the April Stamp of the Month to add texture to the cranberry cardstock background. The firecracker candles are squares of Superhero paper rolled up with a piece of waxy flax out the top. They are fun to make and add lots of wow.

Interactive Happy Birthday

I got the inspiration from my friend and fellow consultant Jeannette Kiernan. Her Christmas card this year used this same layout and I had to scraplift it because I loved it so much. I used the cupcake stamp set that coordinates with the CTMH Cricut Cartridge. I love that cartridge!

Dotty Birthday Card

Here's a fun and bright Birthday Card using the Dotty For You papers.

A little birdie told me

I love this little bird. He can decorate a layout or card and just makes you smile. He's part of "A Rainbow". The card was made using the Florentine paper. The distressed edges were done by dipping a stipple brush in cocoa reinker and brushing it on the edges. I use this technique for a more dramatic look.

Another Dotty For You

Here's another layout I made using the Dotty for You papers. I love how the strips of the different papers add interest but are not overwhelming. I used the March and April stamps of the months and several different embellishments to decorate. Stay tuned next week for another Dotty creation.

I didn't get a chance to print the photos but this will feature pictures of swim championships when my son competed a few weeks ago. He loved it and was so proud of his ribbons and metals!
