Interactive Happy Birthday

I got the inspiration from my friend and fellow consultant Jeannette Kiernan. Her Christmas card this year used this same layout and I had to scraplift it because I loved it so much. I used the cupcake stamp set that coordinates with the CTMH Cricut Cartridge. I love that cartridge!

A little birdie told me

I love this little bird. He can decorate a layout or card and just makes you smile. He's part of "A Rainbow". The card was made using the Florentine paper. The distressed edges were done by dipping a stipple brush in cocoa reinker and brushing it on the edges. I use this technique for a more dramatic look.

Another Dotty For You

Here's another layout I made using the Dotty for You papers. I love how the strips of the different papers add interest but are not overwhelming. I used the March and April stamps of the months and several different embellishments to decorate. Stay tuned next week for another Dotty creation.

Dotty for You Layout

Beginning April 18th and extending through the end of May you have the opportunity to purchase these great papers as part of the National Scrapbooking Month at Close to My Heart. If you purchase $35 in product you can get this fabulous paper pack for just $5. It comes with 12 different patterned papers featuring the colors Sunset, Lagoon, Creme Brule, Smoothie and Grey Flannel. On the backside of each of the papers is a tonal polka dot pattern in one of the featured colors. This kit is so versatile! Check out the different layouts and cards I've created with the pack throughout April and May. I will be posting one new item with this kit weekly.

I didn't get a chance to print the photos but this will feature pictures of swim championships when my son competed a few weeks ago. He loved it and was so proud of his ribbons and metals!

Envelope card

I learned this fun new card technique from my friend Michelle Nist. You take an invitation size envelope and seal it shut. On the short side cut off approximately 1.5". Take the larger piece and run it through crimper. This will make it just a bit smaller and the piece you cut off will now fit over the top creating a "box" of sorts. For the "card portion insert a decorated piece of cardstock to show your message.
